Your head is filled with “what if” questions. There are too many things to solve before, and you’re wondering. You feel unprepared. Maybe you’re looking back, fearful, unsure about everything. And then there are all those steps you need to go through before you’ll be on your way. There’s just so many skills you need to get, in order to start doing whatever it is that you want to be doing.
No, you aren’t ready. And you will never be. Life just doesn’t work this way.
From that point, everything looks as if you will never finish getting ready. And you won’t.
So what can you do?
How can you ever be ready for something you’ve never did before?
You just can’t. That’s it. That’s all.
Once you understand this, everything should be easy. But no. It’s not. You’re still in the “as soon as I finish this” mode. From the smallest thing to do, to the biggest life decision you want to take, this habit will kill your dreams. This habit will set you on a path of misery.
Although planning and getting ready feels like the right thing to do, and it is, up to a point, after that it’s just a trap. When the first idea of what you want to do takes shape in your mind, it looks in one way or another. But when you start putting it into practice, you can be sure it won’t look similar. And no amount of planning and getting ready will save you from this. Consider it.
Change happens day in and day out. Even if you would have everything ready by the time you start, some things will still be different. Your path won’t look the same as when you planned it and you will have to adapt, to improvise and improve. Nothing works in reality in the same manner as you imagine it in your mind. You will never have all the answers. Moreover, you will never ask all the right questions. Everything is in a continuous change, so there’s no point in waiting to be ready. Nobody was ever ready for anything.
Think about it. That’s impossible.
So stop getting ready!
And when the time for decision has come, skip everything else and do it!
Go for the last step.
This is what you have to do. This is all you’ll ever need to do.
The last step.
P.S.: Kick my ass if I don’t do the same. Please do so without hesitation. I’ll be planning and getting ready for it.
